Silent Cry

In the stillness of the night, tears fall like rain,

A woman's silent sorrow, her hearts quiet pain.

She gazes at the stars, as if they hold the key,

To unlock the love her lover keeps so far from thee.

His affections, once like a river in full flow.

Now a trickle, a shadow, a love she used to know.

She wonders what changed, what caused the divide,

Why is her heart aching, why must she silently cry?

She longs for his warmth, his tender embrace,

But his distance, his indifference, leaves a void in its place.

Her tears may fall softly, in the cover of the night,

But her love's a burning fire, a longing so bright.

She hopes for a change, for the love to return,

For the flames of their passion, once again, to burn.

In the darkness, she'll wait, with love in her eyes,

Hoping to rekindle the love that time denies.
